(LOT 93)
1972 Topps #200 Roger Staubach Rookie PSA 9 MINT

CAPTAIN AMERICA!!!...
Roger Staubach was one of the great quarterbacks of the 1970s that included a plethora of gunslingers enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Following his 1963 Heisman Trophy win, Staubach served a four-year stint in the U.S. Navy before joining the Dallas Cowboys in 1969. By 1971, Roger took over starting QB duties from Craig Morton and proceeded to lead the ‘Boys to a Super Bowl VI win, a Super Bowl MVP and an NFL MVP. From 1970 to 1979, Roger Staubach threw for 22,279 yards and 152 touchdowns while also rushing for 2,204 yards and 19 TDs. Roger's utilization and precision of the "bomb" helped boost those incredible numbers. Staubach played in four Super Bowls with victories in Super Bowls VI & XII. The 1970s was one of the great quarterback eras with Hall of Famers Terry Bradshaw, Fran Tarkenton, Kenny Stabler, Bob Griese, Jim Hart, Archie Manning and Roger Staubach stood atop the pile. Offered here is a 1972 Topps #200 Roger Staubach Rookie graded 9 MINT by PSA. Pictured as the reigning NFL MVP, this impeccably framed card presents bright, bold colors with razor edging and corners. With a back as flawless as the front, it is difficult to determine why this was not deemed GEM MINT. What a marvelous and stunning example and key to the 1972 Topps Football set!
