The 40-card Briggs Meat baseball set from 1953 consists of 28 Washington Senators and 12 players hailing from the New York Yankees and Giants, and the Brooklyn Dodgers. Featuring the same photos as the 1954 Dan-Dee Potato Chips and 1953-55 Stahl-Meyer Franks, each two-card panel offers a red border prior to each subject being hand-cut into individual player cards. High-grade examples are at a premium given that the issues were cut from Washington D.C.'s Briggs Meats hot dog packages with a single issue assessed a 5 (Bauer), a 6 (Bauer), or a 7 (Erskine) as the highest graded.
