1971 Topps Basketball Complete Set with 13 PSA-Graded
BRILLIANT SET!!!...
The 1971 Topps Basketball set is one of the brightest and most boldly colored sets in the hobby with #1-144 as NBAers and #145-233 hosting ABA hoopsters. Offered here is a complete ungraded 1971 Topps set with 13 PSA-graded examples as follows: PSA 8: 35 Havlicek, 47 Cowens, 50 West, 55 Maravich, 70 Chamberlain & 100 Alcindor; PSA 7: 1 Robertson, 2 Bradley, 29 Archibald, 63 Lanier & 200 Issel; and PSA 6: 10 Baylor, 170 Barry. Our guess is that the graded cards were graded prior to the introduction of half grades, as many of the cards appear as though they would be deserving of slightly higher assessments, the exception being where centering was the cause of downgrading. The remainder of the set appears to be one built exclusively out of untouched vending. The ungraded portion of the set looks to be in equally high-grade with some possible exceptions for centering and a few outliers that have touches to the corners from storage. Current estimated value of just the graded cards is over $2,800.
