Thurman Munson Signed Magazine Page PSA/DNA Authentic & JSA LOA

THURMAN MUNSON SIGNED!!!...
When it comes to listing the greatest catchers of all time, Johnny Bench is widely considered the best all-around backstop, and then the usual suspects of Berra, Campanella, Rodriquez, Posey and Carter, to name a few, fall in behind. However, if you narrow it to the 1970s, Bench still reigns supreme, but he is immediately followed by New York Yankees receiver Thurman Munson. At 23, Munson captured the 1970 AL Rookie of the Year Award with a .302 average at the plate and a .989 fielding percentage behind it. He also gunned down 51.6% of the would-be base stealers that year.

Munson was a rock behind the plate for the entire decade, winning three Gold Gloves, the 1976 AL MVP, and World Series titles in 1977 and '78. Most significantly, given his natural leadership qualities, Thurman was named Captain of the Yankees, the first since Lou Gehrig in 1939. An avid pilot, Munson tragically died landing his airplane on August 2, 1979. Presented here is a PSA/DNA authenticated and encapsulated Thurman Munson autographed magazine page measuring approximately 8" x 11". The image captures Munson in a cloud of dirt tagging out a possible run at the plate. Signed in blue ballpoint, this is an incredible and rare signature from one of the great catchers of all time.
