1969 Carlton Fisk Uniform Player Signed Contract Pittsfield Baseball for $150 Per Month! PSA/DNA
2 SOX CATCHER!!!...
When the Boston Red Sox drafted Carlton Fisk 4th overall in the 1967 MLB Draft, they could never have envisioned how long the New Englander would survive, let alone thrive, behind the plate. In 1972, he became the first unanimous American League Rookie of the Year, was named an All-Star, and won his one and only Gold Glove. He also led the AL in triples... not a stat typically reserved for catchers. Fisk played 24 seasons with the Boston Red Sox (1969, '71-80) and Chicago White Sox (1981-1993) and captured 11 All-Star nods & three Silver Sluggers. He retired with records for most home runs & most games as catcher (both since broken) and is often remembered as he tried to wave his home run fair in Game 6 of the 1975 World Series.
Presented here is Carlton Fisk's signed "Uniform Player Contract" for his stint with the 1969 Pittsfield Red Sox contract, where he batted .243 with ten home runs and 41 RBIs in 97 games. Called up late in the season, Fisk made his MLB debut on September 18th against the Baltimore Orioles, going 0-for-4 in Game 1. This April 17, 1969 dated contract insured Fisk would receive $150 per month and is signed by Fisk, his father Cecil, as "Parent-Guardian", and Phillip Piton, President of the National Association. One of the game's greatest backstops!
