PEE WEE IN ‘53!!!...Harold “Pee Wee” Reese captained the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers for 16 seasons, guiding Dem Bums to seven National League pennants and the 1955 World Series championship, the first in franchise history. He was considered one of the best fielding shortstops of his day, topping the NL four times in putouts, twice in double plays and once in assists and fielding percentage. Standing only 5’10”, the diminutive captain became the biggest man in baseball when he threw his arm around Jackie Robinson in 1947, accepting his new teammate, despite the racist chides hurled Robinson's way. Presented here is Harold’s 1953 Topps #76 Pee Wee Reese issue graded 9 MINT from PSA. This superb example is bright with an enticing Reese image at center, with exceptional borders, clean surfaces, and razor edges and corners. An attractive and coveted card with only two graded higher. This will upgrade the best of the best collections.
