REGGIE ROOKIE!!!...Playing 21 seasons with four different franchises, the name Reggie Jackson is synonymous with success. Coming up with the Kansas City Athletics and moving with them to Oakland, Reggie led the A’s to three World Series titles (1972-74). Batting .293 with a league-leading 32 homers, 99 runs scored and 117 RBIs, Jackson was named the American League MVP. After a year stint in Baltimore, in 1977, the slugging right fielder landed in the Big Apple and in the crosshairs of volatile skipper Billy Martin. In 1977 and 1978, Jackson powered 59 home runs and led the Yankees to back-to-back World Series titles, but his tumultuous relationship with Martin was front page fodder.

Dubbed "Mr. October" by teammate Thurman Munson, Reggie's nickname was well-earned, with the slugging Hall of Famer dominating the playoffs and Fall Classics equally, better than any player who ever graced a baseball diamond. Leading both the Oakland Athletics and New York Yankees to five World Championships during the 1970s, his unparalleled clutch hitting was a key factor for many of those titles, especially in 1977 when he walloped three home runs on three consecutive pitches in the Game #6 clincher at Yankee Stadium.

Reggie Jackson finished his career with California (1982-86) and back in Oakland (1987) having amassed 563 home runs, 2,584 hits, 1,702 RBIs and 228 stolen bases, not to mention 2,597 strikeouts, the latter of which remains an MLB record. Offered here is his 1969 Topps #260 Rookie graded 9 MINT from PSA. A key issue to the 1969 Topps release, this Jackson rookie is well-centered with impeccable surfaces, razor-sharp corner tips, crystal-clear clarity and sparkling hues. Only a single issue graded higher.
