PERFECT GAME 5!!!...Pitching for 14 seasons for seven different teams, Don Larsen posted a fairly innocuous record of 81-91 with 849 strikeouts, 44 complete games and 11 shutouts in 412 games. Larsen’s arsenal consisted primarily of a slider and fastball, both of which he was able to control and keep batters off balance. After two seasons with the St. Louis Browns/Baltimore Orioles, Larsen was traded to the New York Yankees in 1954. The perennial playoff contender plugged him in as a 3rd or 4th starter, and he went 11-5. In the World Series, however, Larsen stunned the potent Brooklyn Dodgers lineup as he literally silenced their bats in Game 5, pitching the first and only World Series no-hitter and perfect game. Of the 728 World Series games EVER played, Don Larsen’s 1956 World Series Game 5 Perfect Game is the one and only No-No in the Fall Classic. Offered here is a PSA encased ticket stub signed by Don Larsen in blue Sharpie assessed GEM MINT 10. What an incredible piece of history!
