1932 U.S. Caramel #26 Lou Gehrig SGC 4 VG-EX
LOU LOU LOU!!!...
By 1932, Henry Louis Gehrig was a ten-year veteran with the New York Yankees, the 1927 American League MVP and finished among the top 3 in MVP voting from 1930-32. He was the best first baseman in the AL, with all due respect to Jimmie Foxx, boasting a .990 fielding percentage, a .343 batting average and 267 home runs for his career. Teamed with Babe Ruth, and typically batting back-to-back with Ruth 3rd and Gehrig 4th, the dynamic and powerful duo helped lead the Yankees and the famed Murderers' Row to three World Series titles (1927, '28 & '32) smashing 859 home runs as teammates from 1923-1934. Presented here is the rare 1932 U.S. Caramel #26 Lou Gehrig graded 4 VG-EX by SGC. This is the first color card ever made of the Iron Horse and his toughest mainstream issue comparatively speaking versus the multitude of Goudey Gehrigs issued in 1933 and ‘34. This U.S. Caramel Gehrig continues to rise, and finding any aesthetically pleasing example, such as this offering, can be tough. This beauty offers a well-framed photo image against the typical bold red background within four strong borders. Add this mid-grade Lou Gehrig in an SGC 4 VG-EX holder to your collection today.
