The 1950-55 Callahan Hall of Fame (W576) Baseball Basic Set features 62 cards exhibiting amazing black-and-white drawings from artist Mario DeMarco. Produced by the B.E. Callahan of Chicago Company, known for their "Who's Who in Baseball", the issues were released and sold as a box set at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and ballparks across the country. Offered here is a 1950-55 Callahan Hall of Fame basic set that includes nine SGC-graded examples as follows: SGC 7: Gehrig; SGC 6.5: Ruth, Wagner, Johnson & Young; SGC 6: Foxx & Ott; SGC 5: Cobb; and SGC 4.5: Mathewson. Collectively, this basic set is very fresh-looking set, appearing to be unhandled. The grades assessed by SGC, while being accurate, do not reflect the overall eye-appeal. This incredible offered set appears mostly EX-MT to NM.
