1968 Topps Baseball Complete Set with Six PSA-Graded
The 1968 Topps Baseball set is significant and condition-sensitive due to the burlap bordering. This colorful and attractive issue offered here is anchored by six PSA-graded examples including PSA 6.5: #177 Ryan RC; PSA 6: #145 Drysdale; PSA 5: #80 Carew All-Star Rookie & #280 Mantle; and PSA 4: #150 Clemente & #247 Bench RC. Overall, the set appears with 15% as EX-MT or better condition, 40% EX, 35% VG-EX, and the remaining being VG or lesser. Key cards for this release are as follows with conditions for #s: 20 B. Robinson (FR), 45 Seaver (FR), 50 Mays (FR to GOOD), 100 Gibson (EX), 110 Aaron (trimmed), 230 Rose (miscut), 240 Kaline (GOOD), 330 Maris (VG), 355 Banks (EX), 408 Carlton (VG), 490 Superstars (miscut), 500 F. Robinson (EX) and 520 Brock (EX-MT). Also includes a mostly EX condition 1960 Topps Game set. Despite the modest condition of the set, it is nice that the consignor went out of his way to buy nicer start cards. Current estimated value of just the graded cards is $2,400.
