(LOT 1626)
Harry Heilmann Handwritten Note PSA/DNA Authentic

This handwritten note by Baseball Hall of Famer and four-time batting champion, Harry Heilmann, reads: "Phyllis, Wish I could have had the pleasure of meeting you this evening. Regards, Harry Heilmann." The identity of Phyllis remains a mystery, perhaps a fan or acquaintance, but the note reflects Heilmann's kind and thoughtful nature. Known as "Slug," Heilmann spent 17 years with the Detroit Tigers and two years with the Cincinnati Reds before transitioning to a 17-year career as the Tigers' play-by-play announcer from 1934 to 1950. A truly rare and meaningful signed note from Heilmann, who passed away in 1951, making this an exceptional piece for any collector of baseball history.
