MONTANA GAMER!!!...Much like Pittsburgh's Bradshaw in the 1970s, Joe Montana led the San Francisco 49ers to four Super Bowl titles (SBs: XVI, XIX, XXIII & XXIV). Joe Cool is widely considered the best quarterback from the 1980s, especially high praise considering his tenure overlapped with Miami’s Marino, Denver’s Elway, San Diego’s Fouts and New York’s Simms. From 1980 to 1989, Montana amassed 30,958 passing yards and 215 touchdowns, many of which were caught by Hall of Famer Jerry Rice. In the summer of 1991, our consignor was gifted this Wilson road jersey from Joe Montana through his relative serving as the Niners equipment manager. A professional athlete himself, our consignor remains friendly with the Hall of Fame QB and has featured this game-used jersey prominently in his extensive collection. Displaying only light game usage, Joe Cool reportedly wore this size 46 jersey only once, a preseason game on July 27, 1991 against the Los Angeles Raiders when San Fran beat LA 24-17. Still very clean, the only mark appears to be a light discoloration on the “T” in Montana where the dated masking tape once stuck. PSA photo matched this jersey on July 8, 2025, using dot patterns within his front number. Montana has also signed in black on the “1” from this #16 on the back. This Joe Montana gamer should be prominently displayed in one 49ers super fan's man cave! PSA LOA included.
