MASTERPIECE!!!...Early Wynn pitched for only three American League teams, beginning as a 19-year-old in Washington, spending the majority of the 1950s with Cleveland and then five more years in Chicago, retiring with the Indians. More than half of his 300 victories came with the Indians (163). Equipped with a fastball, curve, slider and knuckler, Wynn almost quietly marched to 300 wins, becoming the ninth player since 1900 to win 300 or more and one of only 24 hurlers to eclipse the hallowed mark. Offered here is an outstanding 1953 Topps #61 Early Wynn holdered 9 MINT from PSA. At first glance, this is one of the most striking cards in the hobby. The shading and craftsmanship of this close-up image of Early Wynn is absolutely breathtaking. With virtually spot-on centering, razor-sharp edging and corners combined with a pack-fresh look and only a single issue graded higher, this one should get bookmarked. To say the ‘53s are works of art is an understatement when looking at this Wynn, as it appears that the paint is still drying. How did this not grade a 10?
