HIGHEST GRADED YOGI!!!...Capturing a MINT 1953 Topps #104 Yogi Berra subject may be a more excruciating task than finding snow in Florida, with this remarkable PSA 9 offering representing a fractional 0.3% (eight examples) of the approximately 2,900 PSA encapsulated specimens. Most significantly, it stands tall with those seven other copies as the finest of its kind, with Berra's status as one of our National Pastime's greatest all-time backstops equally impressive. Yogi Berra's lifetime achievements, including three MVPs and 13 World Series titles, are just as compelling as his representation on this supreme card. Yogi's timeless portrait image is virtually immaculate, revealing fine, near-perfect centering. Incredibly, the lower left bold red text box does not exhibit any surface flaking whatsoever, with most of the '53 Topps text boxes plagued by some level of surface chipping. The only imperfection we can possibly detect is a somewhat rough right-edge factory cut commonly seen on a myriad of '53 Topps subjects. Blisteringly sharp corners, blinding white borders and pack-fresh surfaces all contribute to the revered assessment, with another PSA 9 example selling for nearly $55,000 in 2024!
