Who might have guessed that Mike Andrews would make such an impact on the hobby more than 50 years after his retirement? The incredible surges in pricing during the “COVID years" were not lost on this 1969 Topps #52 Mike Andres card graded 9 MINT from PSA, as it garnered an impressive $27,000+ in 2024. Mike Andrews played the right side of the infield for eight years in the big leagues with three different teams and won the 1973 World Series with the Oakland A’s. A 1969 All-Star nod and that championship were the highlights of his career, as he posted a decent .258 batting average with 66 home runs, 316 RBIs and 18 stolen bases. Despite that mediocre tenure in the Majors, this 1969 Topps Andress issue in a 9 MINT has withstood a half century of storage and still possesses razor-sharp edging and corners, a crystal-clear photograph of the Red Sox 2nd bagger, virtually perfect borders and flawless surfaces. This highest graded example will undoubtedly upgrade even the finest of sets.
