The offered 1948 Leaf Boxing near-complete set consists of 46 ungraded cards of the 49 produced issues including four PSA-graded as follows: PSA 8: 35 Armstrong; PSA 7: 93 Baer; and PSA 6: 64 Robinson, 102 La Motta. Missing #42 Cerdan, #48 Louis & #55 Corbett, sold separately here as Lot #s (1660-1662). And while the set technically does list 50 cards, #50 Rocky Graziano is so incredibly rare that enthusiasts list the set with 49. Highlights of this pugilist package include #s: 1 Dempsey (VG-EX with staining), 9 Jeffries (NM OC), 17 Johnson (NM OC), 32 Schmeling (NM), 73 Tunney (NM OC) and 101 Sullivan (NM OC). It should be noted, that with few exceptions, the cards included in this set appear to be in similar condition as the graded examples being sold separately with the main detractor being centering. This would be considered a very fresh and high-grade set with only about 15% of the cards being of a condition that would warrant EX or less. By all accounts, this is potentially one of the highest graded sets in recent history. Please see all images on our Website to view the centering. Current estimated value of just the graded cards is over $1,400.
