DISCO SUCKS!!!...The 1979 Disco Demolition Night in Comiskey Park is one of the most notorious events in baseball. Brainchild of local rock DJ Steve Dahl, Chicago held a promotion for Dahl to blow up disco records at the July 12 doubleheader. As the Veeck family hoped to draw 20,000 fans or so, loyal Dahl listeners flocked to Chicago's South Side ballpark in droves as an estimated 50,000+ stormed Comiskey to watch Dahl demolish admission disco records while fans in the stands hoisted banners of "Disco Sucks" and other more crude and offensive epithets. Following the first game loss to the Tigers, the demolition commenced, blowing a huge chunk of turf from the outfield as fans rushed the field. Due to the condition of the field, game two was postponed and eventually forfeited. Offered is a July 12, 1979 Disco Demolition Night ticket stub encased 8 NM-MT by PSA. This upper box seat stub is in NM-MT condition with an expertly torn perforated edge. Only a single issue is graded higher.
