This rare and eye-catching baseball fan, shaped like a diamond and issued around 1910, features sepia portraits of 16 prominent players and managers, one from each Major League club at the time. American League: Schaefer, Wallace, Sullivan, Chase, Moriarty, Lord, Davis, Lajoie. National League: Doolan, Griffith, Dahlen, Sweeney, Chance, Devlin, Clarke, Bresnahan. A colorful lithograph of a woman in a hat, reminiscent of Katie Casey from "Take Me Out to the Ball Game", adds period charm. Copyrighted by F.A. Schneider, it also bears a reverse-side ad for R.E. Culler, General Merchandise, Jefferson, MD. Despite minor paper loss to a few names, it remains in very nice condition. An extraordinary survivor of baseball’s golden age and a rare blend of early sports marketing and Americana.
