c. 1927-28 Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig - Type 1 PSA Encapsulated Original Photogragh

BABE & LOU ON TOUR!!!...
Leave it to Christy Walsh to exploit every aspect of Babe Ruth's career, including his relationship with teammate Lou Gehrig. In 1927, Gehrig and Ruth were on top of the world as the leaders of Murderers' Row, who ran away with the American League pennant and then dispatched the Pittsburgh Pirates in a 4-game sweep at the World Series. After leading the league with 53 doubles and 173 RBIs, Lou Gehrig was named AL MVP. But, not to be left behind, Babe Ruth set the mark for home runs with 60, a total that would stand for 34 years. Following this amazing season, Gehrig signed with Walsh and Ruth, and Gehrig then barnstormed the country on a 21-city tour, playing with semipro, prep school and minor league players across the nation as the Bustin' Babes and the Larrupin' Lous. Presented here is an 8" x 9-1/4" Type 1 photograph of the two Yankee heroes on their barnstorming tour donning their respective unis. Still in amazing shape, the PSA Authentic Type 1 photo shows a decent border with stray but unobtrusive surface blemishes (for the most part) and a relatively clean back with only aging soil evident. A rough border is visible on the right side, but this near-100-year-old image still boasts impressive images of the greatest one-two punch in MLB history.
