c. 1930s Lou Gehrig Fielding - Type 1 PSA Encapsulated Thorne Photo Studios Photograph

LOU IN THE FIELD!!!...
When you play 2,130 consecutive games, or 15 straight years, you tend to get pretty good at your position. That was certainly the case with Lou Gehrig who, despite pitching predominantly at Columbia University and beginning his major league career in the outfield, turned into arguably the finest fielding first baseman of his day. Gehrig was a legend at the plate, even in college, and was signed as the "next Babe Ruth", but his power and hitting were only half of the picture as Gehrig posted an exceptional .991 career fielding percentage and remains among the best ever in putouts, double plays and defensive games at 1st base, even some 86 years after his final game. Offered here is an alluring c. 1930s Type 1 image of the Iron Horse fielding at first base. His form is flawless, as is this approx. 8" x 10" Thorne Photo Studios photograph. With clean white borders all around, light but evenly worn corners and an unblemished surface, this Lou Gehrig fielding should stand on its own next to his batting images as they are more frequent. The "Thorne Photo – Official Photographer" stamping remains on the back. Add this Lou Gehrig fielding image to your Type 1 collection today! PSA/DNA LOA included.
