1917 Chicago Cubs Owner Charles Weeghman Signed Check to Albert Lasker PSA/DNA Authentic
Albert Davis Lasker is known as the "father of modern advertising", who was the head of the advertising firm Lord & Thomas, where he not only revolutionized the advertising industry but significantly changed popular culture with the introduction of advertising on the radio and later on the television. Lasker was also active in politics, assisting Warren G. Harding in his presidential campaign in 1920, where he unleashed a broad-based advertising campaign, which used many advertising techniques that are now standard but were a first at the time for a presidential campaign. Weeghman was most likely hiring Lord and Thomas for advertising. A great piece of Cubs history.
