1917 Chicago Cubs Owner Charles Weeghman Signed Check to John E. Bruce PSA/DNA Authentic
This 1917 check has been paid to John E. Bruce as the Secretary of the National Baseball Commission from the Chicago Cubs. The check is signed on behalf of the Cubs by Charles Weeghman, the owner of the Cubs at the time. Bruce was an attorney from Ohio who won an election to the Ohio House of Representatives in 1883 and was later appointed assistant US Attorney for the southern district of Ohio by President Grover Cleveland. A true Cubs relic and keepsake!
