This incredible two-page handwritten letter, dated February 24, 1937, is written in pencil by Jack Norworth, a legendary singer, songwriter, and vaudeville performer. Norworth is best known for writing the iconic lyrics to "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" in 1908. Born in Philadelphia in 1879, Norworth passed away in 1959 in Laguna Beach, California. Despite penning one of the most famous baseball songs of all time, it wasn't until 1940 that Norworth actually attended a major league baseball game. "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" has since earned its place in history, ranking at number 8 on the "Songs of the Century" list, as selected by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Recording Industry Association of America. This two-page letter is a rare and significant piece of musical and cultural history, written by a highly respected figure in the world of entertainment.
