SB III MVP!!!...Considered to be “the greatest athlete to come out of the college ranks in 1964”, Joe Namath “signed for a large bundle of cash by the Jets” and was expected to take the up-and-coming New York franchise to a championship. In 1969, Broadway Joe did just that as he led the Jets past the heavily favored, Unitas-led Colts in Super Bowl III, upsetting Baltimore 16-7. The All-Pro quarterback threw for 3,147 yards and 15 touchdowns in 1968. Joe Willie spent 13 years in the NFL with the Jets (1965-1976) and the Los Angeles Rams (1977) and was named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1985. Offered here is the 1965 Topps #122 Joe Namath rookie card graded 6 EX-MT by Beckett. This wonderful example of the Jets QB features a bright and colorful image of Namath, good borders, and sharp edging and corners. With attributes consistent with EX-MT status, this is an excellent card around which to build for any collector. Sharpness overall and a superior subject. Joe Willie for the taking!
